Ideal packaging: 2017 Ford Transit Connect Cargo Van
Ford’s compact Transit Connect is set to provide cost-conscious commercial fleets and small business owners unmatched fuel economy and versatility in the expanding commercial vehicle market. The Ford Transit Connect drives and parks like a car, hauls more payload many full-size pickup trucks and delivers fuel efficiency unmatched by any other commercial vehicle in North America today.
The Transit Connect is available in the following configurations: cargo van and passenger wagon body styles; two wheelbase lengths; and XL, XLT and Titanium (wagon only) trim levels.
Power is generated by a 2.5L four-cylinder engine. Torque is communicated to the pavement through an efficient 6F35 six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, geared for around-town responsiveness and low-rpm highway cruising.
This clever van’s cargo-carrying and payload capabilities are based on its high-strength body and tried and true suspension hardware. An independent MacPherson strut suspension with stabilizer bar is up front, with a twist-beam suspension and stabilizer bar at the rear.
The Transit Connect is available with or without second-row seating, and offers useful options like rear view camera, 6.5-inch touch-screen display with navigation, and SYNC® with MyFord Touch® – Ford’s voice-activated mobile communications and entertainment system.
