The elegant flagship - 2011 Subaru Tribeca crossover
As Subaru's flagship vehicle, the Tribeca was designed to make a statement – inside and out. From bumper to bumper, this versatile, all-wheel drive vehicle is an impressive example of elegantly versatile motoring. Last year the Japanese automaker tweaked the formula by adding the following upgrades and enhancements: all Tribeca models are equipped in a seven passenger configuration; trim lines have be simplified to Premium, Limited and Touring; heated seats are now standard for all models; and rear cabin air conditioning is standard for all models. Limited and Touring models are equipped with a standard 385-watt harman-kardon Premium Audio System with integrated XM Satellite radio, six-CD changer, AM/FM stereo and ten speakers; and standard Bluetooth hands-free phone system. Touring added HID headlamps; monochrome exterior paint scheme; moonroof; rear vision camera and auto-dim mirror; and seven spoke alloy wheels.
The Tribeca receives power from a 3.6L horizontally opposed six-cylinder Boxer engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with SPORTSHIFT.
The Subaru Tribeca delivers a highly engaging driving experience and top safety performance with Subaru quality. Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) and a four-wheel traction control system (TCS) enhance the capabilities of the standard Variable Torque Distribution (VTD) version of Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system incorporates variable torque distribution with vehicle dynamics control stability and four-wheel traction control to provide enhanced handling in and traction in all types of driving conditions. It also features 8.4 inches of ground clearance, yet has a low center of gravity and a very comfortable, car-like step-in height not normally associated with an SUV.
Ride and handling is very impressive as is occupant comfort in the modern cabin. It also provides plenty of room for cargo.
Standard features include 18-inch wheels, 100-watt audio system with CD player and MP3 capability, 8-way power driver's seat, cruise control, dual-zone climate control system with air filtration, four 12-volt power outlets, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, multifunctional display with information system, fog lights, power door locks, power mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, power windows and remote keyless entry.
